Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life
Marcus Kayal was a Mahwah High School student and member of the Boys Soccer family who passed away in December of 2019. Marcus had a passion for the game of soccer and always pushed himself to play at the highest level. While he exceled in sport, Marcus was a young man who also put a tremendous amount of focus towards his academics and was highly respectful to all people that he interacted with. On the field, Marcus wore #4.
In his memory, George and Debbie Kayal established the Marcus Kayal Legacy4Life charity through which we have raised funds for the Marcus Kayal Memorial Scholarship at Mahwah High School and for the newly established program, Hearts4Marcus, which provides preventive cardiac screenings for students at Mahwah High School. We teamed up with the Mahwah Schools Foundation and held the first Miles4Marcus event, which was a great success, with over 400 participants. The second Miles4Marcus for event will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Mahwah High School's Action Through Athletics hosts Hoops4Marcus, a fundraising event to support the Marcus Kayal Memorial Scholarship.
